James Madison University to use StatMonitr in 2012-13

HARRISONBURG, VA. -- James Madison University and StatBroadcast Systems reached agreement today to use the StatMonitr media stats system and wireless stat monitors for home athletic events throughout 2012-2013.

James Madison University is a public university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Founded in 1908 as the State Normal and Industrial School for Women, the university was renamed after the former president in 1938 and became a full university in 1976; it's current enrollment is 18,900. The James Madison Dukes are charter members of the Colonial Athletic Association of NCAA Division I. The Dukes sponsor 18 varsity teams and compete in football in the Football Championship Subdivision. They have made 10 appearances in the FCS Tournament, including a national championship in 2004, nine appearances in the NCAA Baseball Tournament, including a 1983 CWS berth, eight appearances in the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament and four appearances in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The Dukes also won an NCAA title in women's field hockey in 1994.
